Featured Songsalive! Event: Chicago We're Back!

Did you know that Chicago was our first chapter in the U.S.A outside Los Angeles? We had over a decade of Songsalive! showcases and workshops there. Then we took a little hiatus. Well, we are happy to announce we've re-established shows there, under our new Songsalive! coordinator, David Keeney.

New Backstage:

As artists, we want to "take it to the limit" and then go beyond... and then SHATTER BEYOND!! What does that really mean? Look... everyone has so much more inside them than they realize. So how do you tap into what you may not even know is there? In this workshop we'll explore pushing it to the limit... and then blasting through that limit! What that feels like. How you get there? What holds us back from doing it? How do we know when we've done it? And is it always or ever necessary? This session is centered around voice and performance, but will also cover going to extremes creatively, in your writing, your playing, your level of dedication and ultimately your life! Listen to Steven Memel's talk at a recent Songsalive! Workshop (we recorded it). It's a little lo-fi but you'll enjoy it just as much as we did! Tap above. Steven Memel is the creator of and the energy behind "The Science Of Switching On", a unique and impactful system that enables him to achieve rapid and dramatic results with all performers. He is an internationally recognized vocal technique and performance coach as well as an award-winning actor and director.

This past US Summer we held a competition, for any Songsalive! member to join the Songsalive! Summer Song Challenge ☀️☀️☀️who could:

1. Pair up with 1 other
2. Write a NEW song together with Summer in the title
3. Write lyrics and music that inspire us about summer
4. and Post the song in our online squad

The WINNING co-writers win a $100 Amazon gift card

It was a slow start, but songwriters found each other across the globe and formed fast co-writing friendships to win the summer songwriting prize. The coolness of this, is songwriters collaborated remotely across the world. Pretty neat, huh?!
