This event will offer a Song Critique Session + Music Industry Discussion - focusing on in-the-round song critique where Songsalive! and each other provide feedback and positive critique, sharing insights on how to take your song to the next level.

Barbara Cloyd will listen & give feedback to your songs and talk about the unique style of writing that defines country music hits and discuss the importance of networking in Nashville.

Barbara Cloyd: Since it began in 1986 Barbara has been hosting the open mic at the Bluebird Café, where she has seen newcomers like Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney and David Wilcox, as well as many of today’s top writers. After Lorrie Morgan had a top ten hit with Barbara’s song “I Guess You Had To Be There,” developing songwriters began asking Barbara for feedback and advice. This led to her career as a teacher, offering one-on-one consultations and hosting the popular “Play for Publishers” workshops. She’s well know for her ability to spot talent and many now-successful writers and artists owe their start to introductions she made for them, including Adam James, Brett Jones and Brent Anderson. For her dedication to helping writers the Nashville Songwriters Association’s gave her the Maggie Cavender Award for Exception Service to the Songwriting Community.

Come ready with your songs for critique and feedback!
