HOW IT WORKS This event will offer a Song Critique Session + Music Industry Discussion.
The First Half: Song Critique Session - focuses on in-the-round song critiques where Songsalive!, the music industry guest speaker, and fellow music creatives provide feedback and positive critique. *Only Songsalive! Members can present a song (lyrics-only and instrumentals OK).
The Second Half: Music Industry Discussion - this month's guest speaker is legendary hit songwriter ALAN ROY SCOTT.
Alan Roy Scott is a professional songwriter for over 25 years, his songs have been recorded by Celine Dion, Luther Vandross, Notorious B.I.G., Gloria Estefan, Cyndi Lauper, Patti LaBelle, Neville Bros. Roberta Flack, Cher, El DeBarge, Tiffany, Patti Austin, The Spinners, Oak Ridge Boys, Ricky Martin (Menudo), Anne Murray, Pointer Sisters, Sheena Easton, and Ray Charles among many. His work also has been featured in Films and TV shows such as “Top Gun”, “Coming To America”, “Karate Kid III,” “Sons of Anarchy,” “Summer School”, “Fame”, “Fame/LA”, “Santa Barbara”, “Guiding Light”, “Melrose Place”, & “Beverly Hills 90210” among others. In recent years, Alan participated in Eurovision 2020 with the song “Cleopatra” for Efendi representing Azerbaijan, as well as being in several Eurovision National Finals (Estonia 2022, Norway 2021, & Lithuania 2019 & 2018). Alan was an exclusive staff writer with EMI Music and Jobete Music (Motown) for a combined 11years, having his own independent Kyushu Boy Music Publishing since 1990.
During the Workshop, Alan will:
Listen and give feedback on your songs
Discuss the current life of a songwriter in Europe, Europeans writing for the lucrative Asian market (K-Pop, J-Pop), Eurovision, and the importance of high level Songwriting Camps, festivals
Share differences and similarities between various European Countries and their markets musically
